mutton biryani recipe

  1. Wash and soak 2 cups of basmati rice for 30 minutes. Heat oil in a pan and sauté 2 medium onions until golden brown. Add ginger and garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute.
  2. Add 1 kg mutton pieces and cook until browned. Add chopped tomatoes, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  3. Mix well and add 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 1 hour or until the mutton is tender. In a separate pot, heat ghee and add the soaked rice.
  4. Sauté for 1-2 minutes, then add the cooked mutton mixture and mix well. Add garam masala powder, saffron, and mix. Cover the pot and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh coriander leaves and mint leaves
